It only stays interesting for about ten or fifteen minutes, when Hart is being interviewed. Then, it’s not much or even nothing at all. It’s an anecdotal movie, something that used to be shown in video clubs, one of those movies that no one had heard of and that people rented without giving it much thought.
Besides finding out what Chrome Keying is… It’s a movie with not much of a plot, or almost none at all, that tries to get by mostly on Kevin Hart’s jokes… and not much else, especially since even Mr. Hart’s lines don’t make me laugh.
No comic can last if the script isn’t funny, and a movie can’t even be decent without a script. This one falls apart because it’s based on an idea that dies almost as soon as the first scene starts. It doesn’t deserve a passing grade.
The most interesting thing is that John Travolta gives the best performance. He even seems to enjoy playing the shaved-head “bad guy.”
